Hi, I found your blog after reading a comment you left on NYTimes.com and thought your general approach to health sounded very sensible.
I noticed that for your friend’s training routine (”Big Baby”) you’re recommending body weight exercises. Personally, I’ve been considering moving away from gym weight machines in favor of trying to do resistence training by using my own body weight. I’m just not sure how, and also not sure whether it’s better or worse than using machines. Just a thought, but maybe you could put together a post explaining how one might do weight-training without using machines? (If you think it’s advisable? I’ve often wondered whether machines are better than body weight or vica versa.) For the record, I’m a 27 y.o. female, in average shape — trying to improve (was once a competitive swimmer in excellent shape, did weights regularly, etc. Now wondering if I can “do weights” on my own, at home, using body resistence.) Thanks! Keep up the good blogging.

I am officially blushing from your compliments.
I am also a little ‘freaked out’ that you can read my mind. I am in the midst of a series of posts about body-weight and band workouts.
I am going to film videos of various exercises at a neighborhood park that has a ‘jungle gym’
Thanks for dropping by and commenting…if you could give me a gushing review on Technorati or Stumble or Digg, I would luv ya even a little bit more
Stay tuned

Wow, 9.69 is an incredibly fast time. From what I recall, Ben Johnson on Winstrol only ran a 9.79 at the 1988 Olympics!
