What the #%&*@ is the Insanity workout?

Has anyone out there tried this workout?

I saw the infomercial last night, and based on the success of their P90X program, I am guessing that this workout is selling a bazillion copies per day.

Based upon the claims in the infomercial, I think I have a pretty good idea what the workout is going to be like, but I would love to get some “real-people” feedback.

So, if you have tried the workout, please let me know what you think of it.

  1. From what I’ve heard it’s a great workout program except that many people report “burnout”. That term in my book correlates with adrenal fatigue.

    I think just like P90X, if you understand how to maximize recovery through recovery exercise, diet, sleep, stress, sunlight, ect… you should be fine.

  2. I’ve attempted a few of the workouts and they are pretty insane. Great cardio boost. Even some of the people in the videos can’t keep up the whole time. Definitely worth a try.

  3. I am on my 6th week and I LOVE it. I have completed the P90X workout twice and wanted to try something new. This is the best cardio workout I have ever done. It is challenging, but that is why I like it. I am 49 years old and I have survived it.
    once I complete the program I am going to mix up the two workouts, I can’t imagine a better work out routine…
    I HIGHLY recommend it, just stick with it.
    I will say, if you are not already in shape, you may reconsider and do another workout first..

I started doing the INSANITY WORKOUT on July 11, 2010, and for a 37 yr old male 5’10” tall and 245 lbs. way over weight and with high blood presure and sleep apnia, I can already see my body changing shape. I’m only 24 days into the program eating calories that range from 1500-2100 a day. It took 23 days for me to noticed any weight loss, I went from 245 to 238 and lost 2-3 inches around my waist. I can’t seem to get through a 6 day workout yet, but I am wrkgout 4 days a wk. My fit test went up and I am now starting to incorparate my own weight lifting program until I can get more dumbells. I have come to terms that I might have to do insanity for 6 mnths to drop dwn to 155 lbs.

The only complaint I have about INSANITY is that I have Sooo much energy now hours after my wrk outs that I cant get to sleep at a decent time. considering I’m up at 2 a.m. to start my day at work. So my sleep is off right now hopefully it will change. I also seem to get the urge to wrk out when I shld be sleeping. I seem to be more energized at 8pm – 11pm than I do @ 4 pm I thought that was Odd.
